Major Project 2: Projects/Tasks & Reflection

INSTRUCTION

Project Overview
Project Title:  Yuni ( Blind Box IP Design)

Concept: This project uses “clouds” as a medium to personify human emotions, creating an original blind box character series called Yuni. Yuni are not controllers of the weather; rather, they represent emotions temporarily lingering in the sky. The project employs minimal intervention and subtle storytelling to convey the ideas of companionship and empathy.

Outcomes / Deliverables
  • Characters: Design of six original characters, each representing a different emotional theme.

  • Physical Models: 3D collectible models to bring the characters to life in a tangible form.

  • Packaging: Graphic-based blind box packaging that highlights each character and their emotional theme.

  • Merchandise: Extension into IP merchandise, including keychains, stickers, and other collectibles.

  • Exhibition Boards: Presentation and promotional materials for showcases or marketing.

Goal : Results in a cohesive, market-ready collectible entertainment IP system, combining display value, interactivity, and commercial potential.

Yuni Series

Clear
Emotion: Happiness / Contentment
Clear represents quiet happiness —a calm moment without intense emotions.
It stays in the sky when everything feels simple and safe.

Awake
Emotion: Calm / Silent
Awake stays in the sky at night. It represents quiet awareness —being calm, but not asleep.

Drop
Emotion: Sadness
Drop appears when emotions need to fall. It does not hide sadness, but allows it to be gently released.

Static
Emotion: Anger
Cloudy Static carries suppressed energy. It holds tension in silence, waiting for the moment to break or fade.

Dusk
Emotion: Nostalgia / Tenderness
Dusk exists between day and night. It represents gentle nostalgia —the warmth of a moment that is slowly fading.

Terra
Emotion: Coexistence / Belonging
Terra represents the connection between emotions and the earth.Unlike other Yuni that drift in the sky, Terra stays close to the ground. It reflects how emotions are not separate from nature, but shaped by the environment we live in. Terra exists as a reminder of coexistence —between humans, emotions, and the planet.
