Exercise:
Week 1: Arranging video clip in Adobe Premiere Pro

We went over the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro in the first week. Two editing assignments were presented to us, and both required us to put the video segments in the right order.

The first exercise's video snippets are numbered appropriately since they come from a Mints ad. All we had to do was put them in the right order.

For the second exercise, the video clips are from a Doritos commercial. They are not numbered in order, so we need to watch the clips to determine the sequence.

Week 2: Shooting practice and editing

Requirement:

- Low angle Wide shot
- Frontal MCU (soft  background)
- Frontal MS (soft  background)
- Extreme Close-Up shot
- Side angle MS (soft  background)
- ¾ angling MCU shot (with blurry/soft  foreground)
- Close-Up shot   
- Eye-Level Medium-Wide shot 






Exercise 2
Our second exercise is an editing exercise. The shots for this exercise are provided in this Google Drive folder:

our task is to assemble them in order (based on the storyboard), trim the clips and apply simple transitions. These shots are based on a short film called My Name is "LALIN".

For this week, we are tasked to watch two videos, 'Guang and 'Lalin' and proceed to write down the main plots for that particular act scene. (act I, act II, act III)

Editing Breakdown
  1. Import shots into AE.
  2. Arrange the shots in COMPOSITION following the tutorial video.
  3. Variations: Pre-compose FLICK, JUMPING shots in different compositions, hence the two shots both need masking.
  4. JUMPING shot: Use only the few frames that character floating in air. 
  5. JUMPING composition: Try time stretching to decide appropriate duration. 
  6. To match size/shape with BUMPING shot, apply Puppet tool to JUMPING’s composition, and add keyframes size/position.
  7. Add adjustment layer to match colour for all layers.
