Week 10 - Week 16

1. Final Project - Merchandising and Promotional Strategy

In this project, required to create minimum FOUR (4) merchandise and ONE (1) promotional strategy, based on Project 2. The project aims to develop skills in creating and designing merchandise that reflects the brand and the packaging design.

Objective:
The objective of this final project is to develop a range of merchandise items and a comprehensive promotional strategy to complement the existing packaging design for a selected food product. Students will apply their knowledge of branding, consumer behavior, and marketing techniques to create engaging merchandise and promotional materials that reinforce brand identity and drive sales.


Key Components:
Merchandise Design (W13):
Develop a range of merchandise items (minimum of FOUR items) that complement the existing packaging design and align with the brand identity. Examples of merchandise items may include apparel, accessories, stationery, and lifestyle products. Design each merchandise item with attention to detail, ensuring consistency with the brand's visual identity and quality standards.

Promotional Strategy (W14):
Develop a comprehensive promotional strategy to increase brand awareness and drive sales. Consider various channels and tactics to reach the target audience effectively. Tailor the promotional strategy to the specific goals, and timeline of the project.

Presentation and Implementation Plan (W15)
Prepare a visual presentation outlining the merchandise designs, and promotional strategy. Provide a rationale for each design decision and promotional tactic, emphasizing how they contribute to brand objectives and consumer engagement.




Sketches-Pattern Design
For the pattern design, I utilized repeated elements of ingredients like tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and the others to complete my main design and this is the overall feel.

Social Media: 

Platforms: Instagram 
 Reason: Instagram is highly visual and engage a wide audience. Use Instagram for eye-catching posts and stories featuring each product. Utilize platform-specific features like Instagram Shopping. 

 In-Store Promotions: 

Tactics: 
  • Mugs: Offer as a free gift with certain purchases or create attractive in-store displays. 
  • Tote Bags: Provide as a reward for spending a certain amount or as part of a loyalty program. Keychains: Distribute with specific purchases or as part of special promotions. 
  • Notebooks: Give as a free item with larger purchases or create a display that encourages customers to take one.

REFLECTION

This last task seemed like such a huge accomplishment. Given that task 2 was followed in its completion, the general design direction has already been determined. I promoted the jackfruit-based sausage brand using earlier projects. I created keychains, totebags, notebooks, and mugs. The finished design, which emphasizes sustainability and the environment while concentrating on the full experience, seems to me to be in keeping with the spirit of the brand. My method of incorporating visual components from item design into graphics shows consistency and strengthens the brand. This project served as a great opportunity to get experience in both establishing the brand direction and ingeniously incorporating that vision into item design through visual design.
